New England Producer Group Returns with Focus on Scaling Farm Success

GLENRAC is building on the success of its pilot New England Producer Group, with the next round of membership now open following a highly successful first 12 months.
The group, which brings together forward-thinking producers from across the region, has delivered strong outcomes and positive feedback, with participants highlighting both the quality of speakers and the value of peer-to-peer learning.
The first session for the 2026–27 program will be held on Wednesday 21 October 2026, just east of Guyra and will feature keynote speaker Richard Braham (Jeogla, Ebor), who will present on enterprise growth, scaling farm businesses, and insights from current Jeogla projects.
The New England Producer Group operates as a paid membership program, meeting quarterly and providing producers with access to leading experts across a range of agricultural disciplines. Each session includes a case study of one of the host farmers enterprises and finishes with dinner and beverages, with a chance for growers to continue the more pointed questions for presenters and more in depth conversations with fellow farmers.
Over the past year, presenters have included:
• Dr Fran Cowley (University of New England) on methane production and emerging opportunities
• Matt Foster (GrazAg, Armidale) on soil testing and post-drought management
• Ross Gibson (Rumenworx Nutrition) on feeding strategies during dry periods
• AgTech specialists demonstrating innovations such as water nutrient dosing systems and virtual fencing technology
The group represents a diverse cross-section of the agricultural sector, with members collectively managing more than 20,000 hectares. Enterprises include breeding and trading cattle, feedlots, merinos, goats, and forage crop production.
GLENRAC Project Officer, Eliza James, said “the diversity of participants is one of the program’s greatest strengths, where the mix of enterprises, management styles, and geographical spread, creates incredibly valuable discussion and learning opportunities.”
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with one member noting, “It’s great value; it’s been very interesting seeing and hearing about other people’s operations.”
Another added, “Sometimes the gold - even though the speakers are great - is in the conversations at the end of the day over dinner.”
The program is designed to challenge thinking, introduce new ideas, and deliver practical outcomes that can translate directly to on-farm improvements. Prospective members are invited to attend the first session before committing to the full program.
Membership is $550 (inc. GST) and includes access to all quarterly sessions.
Events are free for members, $40 for non-members.
