A Day for Rural Women: GLENRAC brings Health, Wellbeing and Connection to Glen Innes
The 2025 GLENRAC Rural Women’s Day attendees.
Women across the Glen Innes district are invited to take some time out for themselves when GLENRAC hosts its annual Rural Women’s Day on Thursday 15 October 2026.
A popular annual event in the GLENRAC calendar, Rural Women’s Day brings women together for a relaxed and informative day featuring practical health and wellbeing information, opportunities to connect and a little time to enjoy themselves.
Held from 10am to 2pm at the Glen Innes Showground Tearooms, the event celebrates International Rural Women’s Day and recognises the important contributions women make to rural families, businesses and communities.
This year's event will place a particular focus on women's health, with presentations designed to provide practical information and encourage conversations about issues that matter to women at different stages of life.
The speaker program will include:
Gal Winter, Associate Professor at the University of New England, nutritionist and the driving force behind Gal’s Kitchen Culture, will discuss the hot topics in nutrition.
Ellen Adams, local Exercise Physiologist and founder of Moveology New England, will explore why strength matters for our bodies, brains and independence.
Marni Hietbrink, founder of Peak Psychology in Guyra, will share insights into women's mental health and wellbeing, including practical skills to help navigate life's changes and challenges.
Attendees will enjoy a delicious morning tea and lunch, lucky door prizes and catch up with friends - old and new.
Women are encouraged to add a splash of colour to their outfit and come along ready for an enjoyable day of learning, laughter and connection.
"Rural women spend so much of their time looking after their families, businesses and communities”, said Kylie Falconer, GLENRAC CEO. “Rural Women’s Day is an opportunity to turn some of that attention back to themselves, pick up some useful information and enjoy connecting with other women from across the district."
Whether attending with friends or coming along on their own, women of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
