Mateship, Music & Men’s Health: A Memorable Men’s Night Out in Glen Innes
Over 120 community members gathered at the Glen Innes Services Club on Friday 13 June for an unforgettable evening of mateship, music, and mental health awareness—and they left inspired, uplifted, and more connected than ever.
Guests were treated to a rich program of enlightenment, emotion and entertainment, led by much-loved MC Murray ‘Muz’ Hartin, whose unique brand of Australian storytelling set the perfect tone for the night.
The highlight of the evening was keynote speaker Sam Bailey, whose incredible personal story of resilience, determination and humour resonated deeply with the audience. His journey from a life-changing accident to becoming a successful farmer, author and pilot captured hearts and minds.
Musical entertainment from Sam Handford, a talented singer-songwriter from the Northern Rivers, filled the room with energy and warmth, while Carol Mudford, founder of sHedway and 2025 NSW AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award winner, shared her passionate work supporting mental health in the shearing industry.
This year’s Men’s Night Out was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Kayne Wells Memorial Fund, Glen Innes Men’s Shed, White Rock Wind Farm, and the Glen Innes Services Club, along with contributions from sHedway, the Glen Innes RSL Sub-Branch.
A special thanks also goes to Grid Social for beautifully capturing the spirit of the event, and to Centacare Glen Innes and The Salvation Army Australia for their informative displays and personal conversations that added depth and value to the evening, and Pinknoize Audio, whose expert production brought the night to life.
“We are thrilled with the community’s continued support and enthusiasm for this event,” said Kylie Falconer, CEO of GLENRAC. “It was wonderful to see so many people laughing, listening and learning together in such a warm, welcoming space. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive - and we’re already excited to start planning for 2026!”
