ABC’s Muster Dogs Heads to Glen Innes to Celebrate Women on the Land
The national spotlight will shine on Glen Innes when the hit ABC television series Muster Dogs visits the New England for a community gathering ‘Smoko’ at the Glen Innes Showgrounds Tearooms.
The event, taking place on Thursday, 24 July, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm will feature a special appearance by Muster Dogs narrator Lisa Millar, recently nominated for the prestigious 2025 Gold Logie Award, alongside Season Three cast member Marlene Brewer, a cattle farmer from Bingara, and her Border Collie, Hudson.
A film crew will be on-site, capturing the visit for posterity!
The event, titled “Strong Women, Strong Country”, will highlight the experiences of rural women, and will include a morning tea and light luncheon provided in the Glen Innes Showgrounds Tearooms.
Additional guest speakers include:
Dr. Lucy Newsome, UNE Senior Lecturer, who is researching farm succession to daughters
Cath Spora, Farmgate Support Program
Kourtney Orman, Rural Adversity Mental Health Program
Discussion topics will focus on the complex issues facing women on the land — including social isolation, access to support, and family succession planning — in an event designed to inspire, spark connection and community.
The event is ticketed at $20 per person and available at http://tix.yt/glenracmusterdogs
GLENRAC encourages all our community members, women as well as their partners, to attend this event - whether personally involved in agriculture, eager to hear from local interesting women, or simply as fans of the beloved TV series.
