Birthday with the Birds
Would you like to walk amongst a wetland on World Wetland Day? Join us in celebrating Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve 40th anniversary this World Wetlands Day!
Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve is protected under Ramsar and is one of the last remaining high altitude freshwater lagoons along the New England Tablelands. This hidden gem is a refuge for over 100 species of birds and an abundance of animals.
National Park and Wildlife Service Area Manager Michael Lieberman said he is excited to welcome families to the reserve to celebrate this momentous occasion and discover the mysteries of the lagoon.
“Little Llangothlin Reserve is internationally-recognised by the Convention of Wetlands of International Importance and we also believe it is something to be celebrated”
“We have activities for young and old and we look forward to sharing our knowledge of the area while hopefully seeing some magnificent creatures through your binoculars”
“The celebration will be a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of how the lagoon provides habitats for vulnerable and rare species from National Park and Wildlife Service rangers.”
“Come walk through this special place and enjoy a cuppa and some cake on us!”
Birthday with the birds is on from 9.30am until 12:30pm on Saturday 2 February 2019.
